February is the new January!
Anyone else feeling like we need to do January all over again because you feel like you missed the whole thing? I am certainly feeling that way! January seems like such a blur and I kinda want to go back so I can actually "do January" and stick to my "resolutions".
But alas! Let's pretend that February is the new January and so I can actually do what I set out to do on January 1st, writing blog posts often! But let me explain why I didn't!
In the month of January I had about 29 consultations.... that's almost 1 per day! Some days I'd had 4 in a row! That's all fun and games until you realize 4 people are waiting for their estimates at the same time! And even worse when those 4 estimates turn into 4 extra emails on top of your other 2 other consultations/estimates that you've had since those 4 consultations! It was WILD! And for I second I wondered if this would be my life for the rest of the year and almost cried!
Don't get me wrong! I love it when clients are involved and ask tons of questions, it makes me feel more comfortable as we prepare a "fool-proof" plan for the wedding day florals, however handling 29 clients in less than 31 days was a lot! Add to that planning for 2 wedding shows, preparing for Valentine's/Galentine's day, trying to plan our Spring Workshops and trying to keep up with social media (because that's were you all fall in love with us!)
Thankfully, I was smart and humble enough to accept that I needed some help! So I reached out to one of the ladies that used to work with me at my day job and asked her if she'd be interested in helping me out, and when she said YES! (No pun intended!) I felt like I could finally breathe again! And guess what, it was the best decision I've ever made!
So everyone welcome Tab!!! And Tab, you know how much this means to me girl!
I am so happy and excited to have her as part of the Capital Florist team! She's super smart and a total boss-babe, and the best part is she somehow understand the weird language I speak (hand gestures and all!!) I am so glad I get to work the workshop and wedding season with her and I am looking forward to see what she's going to bring to the table!! I mean she tackled her first assignment head-on and it was done within two hours of receiving it... I wish I was that good! Needless to say, she's rapidly becoming my right hand, as she's taken care of a couple of items that have been lingering on my to-do list for way too long! (Yes, you can thank her for the workshops...)
Now that I have her by my side I am hoping I can get some of my time back and be here more often to tell you about all the pretty things we've been part of in the last year!! (As per my new years resolution!!)
Thank you for reading!
P.S: As you're reading this I am preparing to interview 2 more ladies to join my floral design team! Wish me luck!!
